We believe there is a strong cultural and educational imperative for pupils in Scotland to be able to read and listen to Scottish curriculum resources spoke using a Scottish synthetic voice.
A very high quality Scottish synthetic voice is now available free to Scottish schools. The voice can be used by a whole range of different software programs to help print-disabled pupils read PDF files (such as SQA exam papers), worksheets and other documents in Microsoft Word, or to create audio files such as MP3 or Daisy.
The voice can also be used with internet browsers to help pupils read materials made available on and through Glow.
